In Appliance Catastrophes, Px (c) combines the humor of Albert Camus and the visual insight of Barbara Kruger to create a series of collages that celebrate mundane tragedy: a washer leak, a toaster oven on fire, or mould in a coffee maker. The series is deceptive, however. The ordinary mixes with the surreal: fingers accidentally stitched by a sewing machine, a blender splattering blood, or a cat sucked up by a vacuum. The 8″x8″ cardboard works are made using pencil, acrylic, silkscreen ink, rubber stamp ink and found images.

These are so cool! Are they just screen-printed, or mixed media? Hw much are they?

I think they probably are mixed media, but not sure. If you follow the link in the post you’ll get to the Kasini House Art Shop. The artist informed me that there are still some in stock.

thanks again for the feature. to answer the question, the images are simply screenprinted. it’s a three polls print. since the sketches had pencil, i used dark silver ink to imitate the drawing part on the prints.

By three polls, you mean 3 screens? I really like the effect - I wish the image was higher res, so I can see the detail. Love the style, and the paper it’s printed on - makes me think of packing paper - prolly not, but this color is perfect.
