Typographic Inspiration - Piet Zwart
If you know something about typography, you may well have heard of the Dutch typographer or typotekt Piet Zwart.
I’ll leave it there and simply suggest that you visit this Piet Zwart Flickr set, put together by Vernon at Reading University.

These are great. Love the styling on the phone layout above, what year were these done?

Tara,
good question. Um…I don’t know for sure, but I’m guessing it was produced between 1923 and 1933 when he worked for Nederlandsche Kabel Fabrick (Dutch Cable Factory). If anyone knows the precise date, then please let Tara and me* know.
*some have ‘corrected’ me before, suggesting, for example “Tara and I”, which in this sentence would be incorrect. The easiest way to remember is to simply drop ‘Tara’, then see how the sentence reads. Apologies for dropping Tara.

Neat! Did you see the Teka5 die cut piece? I thought that was interesting. I wonder if die cutting was very common when he did it. I liked the n.k.f . delft one too. Snagged those for my digital design scrapbook
Thanks for sharing!
